About Jimmy Page
Jimmy Page, best known as lead guitarist for British classic rock band Led Zeppelin, is one of the most important guitarists in rock history. Possibly inspiring more artists than any other guitarist, he was born James Patrick Page in the Heston suburb of west London. Before joining Led Zeppelin, however, he already had an established career as a session guitarist, having an excellent reputation for his work even as a teen (he began playing as early as age 12).
After backing Royston Ellis and Red E. Lewis, Page was 16 years old when he joined his first band, the Crusaders, at the behest of singer Neil Christian. He toured with them for two years until he took ill with glandular fever and quit music to pursue painting. While a student at Sutton Art College he would often jam onstage with various artists, and he soon began regular session work, his first session, the recording "Diamonds" by Jet Harris and Tony Meehan, going to number 1 on the charts in early 1963. After doing session work with an impressive number and caliber of artists, he was invited to join the Yardbirds. He didn't take that opportunity until later, but by that time the band was already falling apart due to interpersonal difficulties. Page decided to continue the band with a new lineup, and The New Yardbirds, the band better known as Led Zeppelin was born.
Not only was Jimmy Page one of the most influential guitarists in rock, but his band, Led Zeppelin, was one of the most influential rock bands, changing the sound of rock music forever. They recorded ten studio albums, and sold 300 million albums worldwide (100 million in the US alone; only The Beatles and Elvis Presley sold more). In 1980, Led Zeppelin disbanded after the death of drummer John Bonham, and after a break from playing, Page continued working on many other projects, including charity events, an album with Roy Harper, The Honeydrippers with Robert Plant, The Firm with Paul Rodgers, session work with various artists including, again, Robert Plant, his own solo album Outrider, and Coverdale-Plant with Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale. He toured and recorded a live album with the Black Crowes, and appeared live with Robert Plant on occasion. To list all of his post-Led Zeppelin work would take too much time, but he continues to be active as producer for the remastering of Led Zeppelin's back catalogue and other releases, and is busy with charity work with Action for Brazil's Children Trust, for which he was awarded Order of the British Empire (OBE).

About Dragon of Darkness
The title is a lyric snippet from "Battle of Evermore" on Led Zeppelin IV, and it seemed to me to reflect Jimmy's darkness and mystery in contrast to Robert Plant's light.
